A projector remote is a low-power IR transmitter, the button completes a circuit, the IR LED blinks a code, the projector's IR sensor decodes it. Failure points are: dead batteries, oxidised battery contacts, worn rubber-button conductive pad, cracked IR LED, broken solder on the PCB. On the projector side, the IR sensor can fail, the front bezel can yellow and block IR, or the receiver chip can lose communication with the controller. The phone-camera test (point the remote at your phone in camera mode and press a button, you should see a faint purple flash from the IR LED) tells us in 10 seconds which side is faulty.

Common Symptoms We See
Walk through any of these patterns and you're in the right place.
No buttons work at all
Remote completely unresponsive even with fresh batteries. Battery contact corrosion, broken main solder, or IR LED cracked. Repair runs ₹350-₹650, replacement ₹450-₹1,200.
Some buttons work, others don't
Power button works but menu doesn't, or vice versa. Conductive pad on specific buttons worn out. Pad replacement ₹350-₹650 if the remote is otherwise sound.
Sticky or stuck buttons
Buttons feel mushy, slow to return, or stay pressed. Spilled liquid or dust under the rubber pad. Strip and clean ₹350, full pad replacement ₹500-₹650.
Works only at very close range
Remote works only if pointed within 1-2 metres of the projector. Weak IR LED or low battery voltage, LED replacement and battery test ₹350-₹500.
Projector ignores all remotes
Even a known-good remote does nothing. Projector-side IR sensor failure, sensor replacement runs ₹600-₹1,200 fitted.
Lost or broken physical remote
Original remote lost, dropped, or broken beyond repair. Universal-compatible replacement ₹450-₹1,200 (we carry common units for major brands), OEM original ₹800-₹2,500 (2-7 days).

Universal vs OEM decision
Tell us if you need an OEM original remote or a universal-compatible one will do. Universal remotes cost less and we usually have them on hand at our Secunderabad store. OEM originals are 2-7 days for rare models.
On-site or store fix
For projector-side IR sensor faults, on-site visit, sensor swap takes 30-60 minutes. For remote-only issues, walk into our Secunderabad store with the remote and we fit you in 10-15 minutes.
Test pairing, hand back
We pair the new remote with the projector, test every menu function, confirm IR range is good (4-7 metres for line-of-sight). Then warranty card and receipt, you're done.
