Two common causes. (1) LCD polariser plates inside the LCD block yellowing under continuous lamp heat — needs polariser replacement (₹3,500-₹6,000). (2) Colour wheel slipping out of phase on a DLP projector — needs colour wheel servicing or replacement (₹2,500-₹4,500). We diagnose during the ₹149 visit.
Indicative colour-wheel replacement prices are ₹2,500–₹4,500 fitted, depending on model and compatible part availability. We confirm that the model uses a colour wheel and that replacement addresses the fault. Workshop handling and completion time are explained with the quote; the repair carries our 30-day warranty.
Sometimes, partly. Rainbow effect is a DLP characteristic and varies by model, wheel condition, content and viewer sensitivity. We check settings, firmware availability and colour-wheel condition, then advise whether repair or replacement is likely to help. We do not fit non-compatible wheel upgrades.
A permanent yellow patch can indicate polariser yellowing, panel-path dust or optical-block heat damage, depending on projector type. We inspect the optical path and quote the needed cleaning or replacement. Turnaround and durability depend on model, lamp condition and parts availability.
No. A dark spot in the same image position can be dust or damage in different parts of the optical path. On DLP models we inspect the DMD area; on LCD models we inspect the panel and polariser path. We quote cleaning or parts only after confirming the location.
First compare another cable, input and source device, because a source or signal setting can mimic a missing channel. If the fault stays with the projector, we inspect the video board, panel cable and formatter path before quoting motherboard or video-board work.
Polariser life varies with projector model, lamp heat, ventilation, dust and usage hours. Yellowing is more likely on older or high-hour LCD units, but inspection is needed before replacement. We quote compatible parts and labour after checking the optical block.
